About Me

Right now, I am mostly working on finishing my MSc in Molecular Life Sciences and putting my degree to good use for the environment.
I don't really enjoy small-talk, but I love interesting conversations, no matter how little I know a person. When I am not working, I am usually either out taking a walk in nature, exercising, playing guitar, or writing Fantasy.

Random facts about me:
- My picture is in a Japanese travel guide about Vienna
- which is kind of ironic, because I usually cannot take a good picture to save my life
- The president of Austria brought my birthday cake to the Netherlands last year

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have previously enjoyed hosting people, when I had a bedroom to offer. However, funnily enough, I am not that much of a traveler myself. While I enjoy learning about different cultures (and especially the food, omg), so far I have never had the time or money to stray very far. I hope to change that some day soon :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: At the moment, pretty much anything that I can get my hands on. Some all-time favourites: The Beach (the book, NOT the movie), Fahrentheit 491, SoIaF, Non-Violent Communication, everything by Friedemann Schulz von Thun... oh, and I might be a gigantic Potterhead (Hufflepuff all the way!).
Movies: Big Fish, Iron Sky, Finding Neverland, Mononoke Hime, Arrival,...
Music: almost everything, especially if it is at least partly made by a human on an actual instrument; Favourites: Post-grunge like Seether, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Did a 7-day hiking trip without access to running water or electricity in Sweden. Wrote a novel once (it's really, really bad).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very happy to cook - I am an omnivore (with a twist), but I will gladly cook vegan or to any dietary needs/preferences. If vegetarian is okay, then I can show off my superpower: I make an edible first pancake.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Russian Federation, Slovenia, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Austria, Netherlands
