Originally from Wisconsin, we have lived in Fairbanks since 2003. Summer or winter, there's always something fun to do. We also really enjoy just hanging out on the deck or having a bonfire.

PHILOSOPHY

We think we've been pretty lucky thus far, so we just keep being thankful for the lives we live.

To meet new and interesting people...although, we prefer about a week's notice to accommodate people. We like to plan ahead. So if you're already in town or on the way to Fairbanks, please don't bother requesting to stay last minute, that just doesn't work for us. Also, if you're bringing a friend or partner, please make sure they also have a couchsurfing profile so we can learn about them as well.

兴趣

In the summer months, we really enjoy canoeing and camping as much as possible. That can be a trip down a remote river or simply a Friday night booze cruise with friends down the city center. In the winter we skijor with our dogs, which basically means they pull our butts around on skis. There are lots of events in the winter up here that get folks out during the short daylight hours. We both enjoy all kinds of music, currently listening to lots of bluegrass. Tom's a big Green Bay Packer NFL fan, as that is where he grew up. Melissa likes to knit and play with our dogs.

We've seen the aurora borealis (nothern lights) lots of times up here. We've gone on lots of remote camping trips.
