About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Currently LIVIN' THE DREAM!!! By searching for and finding myself through traveling, and volunteering at intentional communities and holistic learning centers!
ABOUT ME
I'm a Libra which is only relevant in the manner that my balance is embracing my two extreme natures; my silly, fun-loving, adventure-chasing side, equally with my deep, contemplative, purposeful self. I'm a sucker for a good story, tell me yours? and for heart to heart connection, as well as a fun night out on the town.
PHILOSOPHY
I love quotes, and mottos and inspirations, a good one as of late comes from a band I discovered in Hawaii.
"Don't waste your hate, rather gather and create, be of service, be a sensible person, use your words and don't be nervous, find your medicine and use it." ~Medicine for The People
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Since home base is Mom's house at the moment, I can not currently offer a couch, but hope to one day again. I participate by being an active listener, in contributing in a community setting, being clean, respectful, and courteous, expressing gratitude, and thoughtful endings to even the most brief encounter with another.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Just with personal friends, and friends of friends at this point. Recently went on a community/eco-village/ashram-hopping/work-trade/volunteer/music, trip known as The Dharma Bums Tour with friends from my current community. I had a wonderful experience sleeping on couches, floors, gnome homes, yomes, tents, yurts, while meeting, connecting with, and being of service to others
Interests
So many to name. I dive in deep with my passions. Traveling (duh!) and getting to learn about new cultures, having unique experiences (always looking for filler for a good story, whether I'm listening to one or telling it). Dancing, dancing, dancing! drumming, good beer, physical fitness challenges in any form; yoga, Pilates, running. Costume design, being girly while still getting my hands dirty, tent livin' as I do for half of the year. I'm the only person I know who can rock fake eyelashes while literally living out of a tent in upstate New York; I like to keep things interesting.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC: I hate to say it, but I sold myself to electronic music and the underground Brooklyn Warehouse scene in most recent history! Mostly loving anything electronic, and eclectic, but my heart will always lie in the punk rock spirit. Just a few favs are; Sleater-Kinney, Manu Chao, M.I.A., Gogol Bordello, Wax Tailor, Op Ivy, Bassnectar, OTT, The Slackers, Die Antwoord, Rusted Root, Macklemore, Tricky, Toots and the Maytals, Major Lazer; also, any sort of Putamayo Compiliation, or world music/fusion of any kind.
Too many movies and books to name; for movies: mostly anything indie and eclectic, Amelie is a go-to. Biutiful was gut-wrenching. For books:mostly fiction or memoirs and "self-help"/new-agey crap
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Biggest accomplishment to date is losing about 100 lbs. and started getting busy changing my life for the better :)
Teach, Learn, Share
A bit of yoga as a personal practice (I've been doing it on and off for 13 + years) and a bit of belly dance (fusion mainly) I used to perform with a student troupe. Some West African drumming. Also, I'm a pretty compassionate listener, and "holder of space" :) I live for genuine human interaction and connection of all sorts.
