About Me

Born and raised in New Zealand, resident in Japan since July 2016.

Studied philosophy and law, so clearly always ready to argue, but generally discinclined to do so (which may be why I ended up teaching English in Japan).

Laid back, open-minded and fairly adventurous, with a some-what sardonic sense of humour. I work Monday to Friday in the evenings, so I prefer to host on weekends, when I can spend more time hanging out. I also have a car and love to go on road-trips and adventures.

I try to keep busy, so if you'd like to stay please try to give me as much notice as possible.

ABOUT NISHIO-SHI:

Nishio-Shi is a small city sitting on the beautiful Mikawa Bay in Aichi prefecture. Famous for it's matcha (powdered green tea) and unagi (eel), Nishio has a lot to offer.

Aichi in general is a fantastic location. Sitting on the Nōbi Plain, Aichi is unusually flat for Japan, making it a cyclists dream. Aichi was home to Japan's 'Three Great Unifiers', Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu, so it has many interesting historic sites and castles, including Japan's oldest castle, Inuyama. Japan's 3rd largest city, Nagoya, is around an hour away from Nishio by train, and sits conveniently at the midway point between Tokyo and the Kansai region.
