About Me

CURRENT MISSION

avoid stagnancy

ABOUT ME

I finished school in May 2011 and I'm okay with the fact that my path is by no means set in stone. If I can find a way to play music, write, travel, skateboard endlessly, and never get too serious, I'd be extremely happy.

PHILOSOPHY

Play everything by ear - some things can't be planned. Some of the most interesting people I know are those who are spontaneous and extremely generous.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a host in Philly with a futon and floor space to spare

While surfing, I have no set plans and I intend to follow my host's lead or be flexible so things work out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Stayed with a host in Gent, Belgium (May 2010) - it was my first time surfing and it went incredibly well.
June 2012: Just got back from a trip through Europe and stayed with a few hosts in Munich, Berlin, Paris and London. Three of the hosts had previously surfed with me or my friend!
Couchsurfers I've hosted in Philly:Rosie and Billie, 9/6 - 9/10/10 (London)
Eric, 11/11- 11/13/10 (Toronto/Serbia/all over)
Jessica, Ryne and John, 3/21 - 3/25/11 (York, PA/South Carolina)
Rosie (PART II!), Phil, Owen and Jen, 10/12 - 10/13/11 (London)

Ariane, 2/2 - 2/5/12 (Paris)

Anne and Ana, 3/7 - 3/10/12 (Hamburg by way of Montreal)

Ariane (PART II), 3/20 - 3/23/12 (Paris by way of NYC)

Isabela and Quentin, 5/9 - 5/10/12 (Bryn Mawr and Meudon, France)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music from all over the spectrum, but especially punk and hip-hop. I'm always looking for new bands to listen to, and I love going to shows. I've really enjoyed studying world literature. My friends study film, which is something I'd like to work with someday.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

backpacked in Western Europe for 30 days with a close friend.

Teach, Learn, Share

"When we learn a language, we learn not only words, but also ways of thinking and perceiving." -the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis

I'm really interested in exchanging languages. I can help you with English and French and I'd love to learn a language from anyone willing to teach it. I really want to improve my extremely basic Spanish skills. If you want to learn how to skateboard or play guitar, I could give you a few pointers. I'd like to learn how to surf and play drums.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, England, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, United States
