ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in the US.
I enjoy playing sports like soccer (hate me all you want, English :p), tennis, and hockey. I also enjoy going snowboarding, wakeboarding, longboarding, and other kinds of boarding. I used to do a lot of skating but not as much anymore. I love watching hockey and am a huge Montreal Canadiens fan.
I enjoy learning languages because it's fun. I got a BA in French back in 2010. I lived in France for a year as well as well as a summer in Montreal.
After getting my BA, I decided to move to China and teach English at the university. I had a great time there and learned lots of Chinese.
I'm back in the US for Grad School getting a Master's in Adolescent Education. I am also working as a project assistant in an exchange program bring 60 youths and teachers from Sub-Saharan Africa for three weeks.
For the summer, I lived in Madrid to practice my Spanish and become TEFL certified. After doing the course, I worked at a summer camp for children who want to learn English.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm living with my Mommy (yes, I know..), so I'm not sure about hosting. Once I get a place of my own, I shall extend the offer.
My friend is on CouchSurfing and suggested I make an account if I ever want to do more traveling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience with CouchSurfing was with my Canadian friend Zack. He used CouchSurfing to find someone with a car and do a road trip together - all we had to pay for was the gas, which was basically awesome.
Overall, the trip was great... Until the guy invited us to stay at his place for the night because all the hostels were closed at the time. Long story short, he woke us up at 4 in the morning frantically crying about his cousin who had gotten into a car accident. He basically kicked us out of his apartment, which was in a dangerous neighborhood 15 km southeast of the city center. Did I mention too that he sped off in his car? Yeah, he did that too. We tried to stop him because we still had our things in the car, but I sped right past us.
Yeah, my first CouchSurfing experience.
