Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Building my Eco friendly home and pool on the farm that I grew up on. Private pilot . . . Try to fly when I have a reason.
ABOUT ME
Grew up in the military til age 11 then moved to a large family farm in Florida, joined the Army at 17 as a Med Lab Tech, then joined the Navy to fly helicopters at 25. Love to travel and meet new people, So far I have visited 53 countries and 49 US states. Fort he last few years I have been building an Eco friendly home in Florida and am finally getting around to finishing the pool. We have tons of room and love to host people from all over the world but we are way out in the country so you need a car or a way to get around.
PHILOSOPHY
Having lived a fairly intense life as a naval Officer I am trying to slow down a bit and enjoy the little things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am a 48 years old married, family man who still feels like I am 14. I want to continue to enjoy life and share some of the things I have. I love to take people flying in my plane, talk over a good meal, play cards late into the night and play badminton!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Stayed in a hostel in Montreal once. Other than that . . . None.
Interests
Love teaching people to fly, language acquisition, green building, rugby (too old to still play) most sports, travel, good conversation, good food, I really can think of much that I am not interested in. . . I guess I might be lacking in the pop culture area but I can learn : ) I have tried to become vegan several times but have not succeeded in maintipjning the lifestyle. Still trying though.

Music, Movies, and Books
"Illusions", "La promesse de l'aube", "Once an eagle", currently reading lots of French classics. . . Little big Man, Sky Soldier, I have a library of over a thousand books so it's hard to name them all. I love to read but I have lately started to spend too much time with this iPad so I have to re-align my priorities.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Flown around the Statue of Liberty in a helicopter, toured Baghdad in a hum V, spent a week in Mogadishu Somalia, played rugby all over the world last played for a French military team. Grew up rather poor, picking tobacco and working of a family farm. Speak French, some German and some Japanese. Swam in a glacial lake in New Zealand with my kids (for about 10 seconds).
