I grew up in Cardiff, Wales, but quite a few years ago I moved to a small village in County Wexford in Ireland.
All my life I have loved travelling. It's the reason that at 19 I went to sea. My first years were spent going around the World to places like West Africa, Australia, New Zealand, the Far East, for example Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea. As I settled down with a house the long trips meant too long from home so I began working on ferry boats. For the last 11 years I have been sailing from the mainland of Scotland to the Western islands.
I don't drink or smoke (although I have a fondness for my'' vaper''!)
My interests include going trekking, did some wonderful walking in Tajikistan recently. Getting to know about different countries ,customs, and cultures.
In the last couple of months I ve visited Ethiopia, Sudan, Egypt, Istanbul, and Tenerife..(Some excellent walking trails there!)
My sense of humour would be along the lines of Monty Python's, Blackadder, Fawlty towers, etc. British satire I suppose.!
I would eat most 'normal' stuff, but if it does not come out of a can of packet would be a useless cook!
have 2 grown up sons living in Ireland and a partner living in Scotland who travels with me to the ''safer'' places where as I will travel anywhere. I want to travel from capetown to Cairo and the Silk route from Georgia, Armenia, Iran, Central Asia and onto China then maybe finish in North Korea. I just want to travel the World!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelled independently around Sudan. getting the visa was brilliant but better still was meeting the people. As yet it has not been spoiled by mass tourism, you are still very much a guest.
