About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Planning my next off-island adventure!

ABOUT ME

Well, actually most of my friends would say I'm crazy! Not psychotic, murderous crazy, but crazy in the sense where my ideas and sense don't often mix in with the norm. I am random in the things I do and say, and can sometimes say very dumb things. Not offensive dumb (I hope), just ditzy dumb :) I am very playful, and "fun" is often attached to the "crazy." I'm extremely nonjudgmental. I am as responsible as I need to be in life, which some might say is not enough, but I get by. I've had most of my closest friends for over 15 years and once in a while, they also say I'm loving and kind :)

PHILOSOPHY

I am a dreamer with a wild imagination!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed and hosted for about a year now. This is truly a wonderful way to travel and connect with travelers. I love that when traveling, you get to see a place from a completely different perspective than if you just booked a hotel. I've made wonderful friends and had so many unforgettable experiences which I would never have gotten if it weren't for CS. I was born and raised in Hawaii so it's easy to take it for granted and forget how lucky I am to live here. My appreciation of home is renewed every time I get to host people who are visiting. I love that!

Interests

I love love love to travel! Duh. My dream is to travel the world. Duh, again. My greatest dream is to actually be able to live around the world, and teach English to support myself, if you need to make it slightly less duh-ish. I want to be able to immerse myself in different cultures abroad. My other huge dream is to own and run my own animal shelter, and rescue animals. I keep regretting not becoming a veterinarian.

I recently found out that I'm still eligible for my dad's airline employee benefits, meaning that I strictly travel on standby now (space available). The obviously major drawback of standby is that I never really know if I will get on that flight until the night before. But still, it's pretty amazing!

I love to hike. Despite living in Hawaii all my life, I dislike the beach. I love to look at it, but if I can avoid going to play in the sand and water, I will. Ironically, I love to snowboard.

Most of my time is spent with my friends and family. My friends and my family have sort of merged throughout the years and we spend lots of time together. Wine nights or scary movie nights at my house with the girls are one of my favorite things to do, minus the scary parts of the movie, but whatever, they all seem to enjoy it more than I do not. Fancy dinners, bars, and nightclubs are also some ways I spend my time, but I prefer quieter nights with friends.

I also enjoy being lazy. Staying in and spending quality time with my dog, Spike, who is a huge, cuddly mixed-breed.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies. Mostly romantic comedies because I'm a silly girl at heart. I also enjoy action and drama. I LOVE TV shows like Game of Thrones, Orange is the New Black, Sons of Anarchy, Nashville, Scandal, The Following, Criminal Minds
I love pop, edm, r&b, and country love music.
Books! I LOVE books! I am an English teacher after all. I'm not going to pretend to be in love with the classics though. I love some, but mostly I read thrillers and glam girl fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

...I was once born alive into this world? That's pretty amazing, I must say. Hahaha, but seriously, there's something amazing about every step and chapter of my life. I recognize those moments best when traveling to new places.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to speak pidgin (Hawaii Creole English). I want to learn how to country dance.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Aside from scrambled eggs and toast, I can make one dish. Luckily, that one dish is amazeballs! Shoyu (what Hawaii locals call soy sauce) chicken. It's basically shoyu and brown sugar. Traditionally in Hawaii it's boiled, but I prefer to bake mine. If soy sauce is available in your area, I could make that for you. Or, I'd love to take you out for a meal and bring you snacks from Hawaii :)
