Overview
About Me
Hello, I’m in Croatia for the rest of the summer 2024, returning to Canada in the first week of September 2024.
I spend about half of the year in Canada and the other half in Croatia, I travel back and forth. I can host in Toronto (Canada) or in my mom’s beachside house in Croatia (close to Dubrovnik in southern Dalmatia) or you could join on my Dufour 35ft sailboat, in the Adriatic Sea.
Hi everybody,
MY HOUSE IN TORONTO NEEDED A LOT OF LOVE, I HAVE BEEN DOING MAJOR REPAIRS ON THE HOUSE FOR A FEW YEARS, MUCH NICER NOW. I’M ABLE TO HOST AGAIN. I LIVE IN A QUIET NEIGHBOURHOOD, WEST PART OF TORONTO, CLOSE TO A SUBWAY LINE.
... working as a cinematographer, traveled and learned from cultures and people in different parts of the world. A lot of the travels were work related, some people say "a professional vacationer" but most of the time it is a dedicated hard work. If I'm traveling with work, the nicest part kicks in after the work is done and there is some time to get a feel for people, how they think, what they like to do, or what they can teach me about music they listen, what they find important in their lives and their surroundings, their geography or history and what they like to talk about and share with others.
... during my travels, My first big pleasant surprised were Chileans, maybe because I had relatively low expectations of Chile during my 1st visit in 2002. Country is safe, cultural and friendly, not corrupt. Chile is a lovely passionate beautifully diverse, “slow pace” country at the end of the world that might have not yet been spoiled with a large influx of tourists. Best visits were during Festival de Viña, in February.
Met different people during my travels and learned a little-bit from everybody.
I grew up in Europe, moved to Canada as an athlete in mid 90-ies. I try to be active, run triathlons, swim and play different team sports, I love Salsa.. Picked up surfing during one of the visits to Pichilemu, Chile 🏄♂️
VERY IMPORTANT: For those of you that will stay over, I am not an early morning person. My day starts after a morning cappuccino. You can join me or have any schedule that suits you.
I drive an electric vehicle and a Segway, I genuinely try in simple practical ways to reduce my environmental footprint. Please think of doing something green today.
My home is in Toronto, Canada but I spend about 6months in Europe, mostly at my mom’s beachside house in Dalmatia-Croatia, or on my 35ft sailboat.
I’m interested in hosting all the travellers that understand a “concept of couchsurfing” or have opened their doors to other travellers. If you just setup a profile 5min ago, you didn’t describe any of your interests and your very first activity is to send me a couchsurfing request, I will probably decline your request.
I can host travellers either in Toronto or in Southern Croatia (close to Dubrovnik).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Learning something new every day and sharing what I have with others gives me a lot of satisfaction, it makes this world better by bringing us closer together. I think couchsurfing truly works best if both parties benefit in some way. I'm friendly, open minded, interested in meeting new people, I’m curios, respectful and love hearing interesting stories. I believe that everyone has something to teach me in one way or another.
I will look into hosting anybody that has created a reasonable informative profile on this website and has hosted others in the past. Short notice Couchsurfing requests are good as my schedule can be over the map.
If you are sending me a couch request, please try to let me know:
- what brings you to the city
- what are your plans or what would you like to do during your stay.
If you expect me to open my door and give you my house keys, then please tell me some basics.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm very grateful for having met some fine diverse people, for opportunities to learn something new about different cultures and traditions from everybody and to see things through different eyes.
Thank you all for enriching my life.

Teach, Learn, Share
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, totally worn out, shouting "...holy S#(%#)*$ ...... what a ride!"
What I Can Share with Hosts
I think the host and the traveller should gain some benefits from a couchsurfing experience. I would like to find a way to show my appreciation, be it through a good conversation and sharing experiences, or simply cooking a meal for my hosts.
I have a strong technical background, pretty good with building or fixing mechanical or electrical things, very good with tools and a strong technical/practical understanding of how things work. If I’m coming to your home, please start thinking about a list of things that need improving or fixing.
