Overview
About Me
We are very busy with work and school - this means that Monday - Thursday nights are not good for couch surfing with us, unless it's school holidays.
Please note that we are NOT CLOSE TO DOWNTOWN CITY ( 1 hour on a bus & train) nor close to the beach. Our closest station is Glen Waverley. Buses run about every 20 -30 minutes.
We are 50 km away from the airport. Dandenong Airport bus is $40 (45 min) or Sky bus + train + bus $20 (120 min).
Car parking is no problem.
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy, Nurture, Teach, Explore, Learn, Work, Relax
ABOUT ME
A music teacher. Married to a maths teacher. Mother of 2 kids and 2 cats.
Happy, sensible, love a laugh, love to sing.
Dislike modern slang such as "wanna". If you would like to stay with us you have to "want to". Use of the word "wanna" will result in a "NO".
PHILOSOPHY
I follow the Desiderata. Go placidly...Strive to be happy.
I try to make the world a better place by helping others and being mindful of our environment.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I like to talk face to face, email or telephone.
We are a very busy family so there are times when we cannot host.
The more notice you give us, the more likely it is that we can help you.
When we couch surf we will always contribute to the host: Either by adding food to the meals, help with the cooking and/or clean-up, take our host out for a meal or offer some money to pay for food if we cannot contribute in any other way. We will usually bring a small gift to our hosts also.
We realize that hosting guests costs money and time.
We hope that our guests would be equally considerate.
We can offer you a private room, shared bathroom, home cooked Australian Family meals, breakfast (cereal, toast, juice, etc.), conversation, travel advice, wifi, TV, bikes.
We give priority to hosting families with children.
We really need some help with weeding the garden. You will get priority if you can offer to help . :-) Especially if are asking to stay for more than 2 nights.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfed in Leipzig in 2018.
Couchsurfed in Alice Springs in 2016.
Couchsurfed twice in Scotland 2013. Met two wonderful households.
Have also done hospitality exchange with 3 other families from London, Cornwall & Cork in 2011. It was a wonderful experience to share a little bit of another family's life. We look forward to returning the favour.
