About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet fellow travel enthusiasts while hosting/traveling and spreading southern charm everywhere I go.

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Atlanta, but have traveled quite a bit.
I have lived in Barcelona for awhile while studying Spanish. I speak Spanish fairly well.

I love to travel. I have been to England, Ireland, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Mexico, Canada, Jamaica, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Haiti.

I have seen some amazing sites and met some of the best people (many that I still keep in touch with). Some of them I met by chance on a train or bus or because my plans changed at the last minute, others I met through friends. I love meeting others who share a passion for travel and making new friends and gaining new experiences.

PHILOSOPHY

The answer will always be no if you never ask the question.

Travel without a map, be open to circumstances and chance - you never know who you will meet or where the journey will take you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have met a few couch surfers during my travels in Europe and a couple of them have then stayed with me while they were in the states. I hope to become more active in hosting and surfing. I hosted my first surfer in Feb 2013 and it was a great experience. Since then I have hosted about a 2 dozen surfers - all great experiences. I try to give tips and recommendations to those passing through somewhere I have knowledge of and assist in any way I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed in Spain, Holland, and Belgium. I met some wonderful people who have become good friends that I still stay in touch with. Many of these friends have crossed my path again since our first meeting, some on several occasions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After studying in Barcelona for a month, I decided to spend the rest of my Summer in Europe. I had no plan, I just winged it as time went by. That was one amazing summer.

I have gone on an archaeological dig in a small farming town in Spain where I discovered a medieval pot lid.

I have jumped on a plane to travel around Europe without really researching what I am doing or where I am going. I decided to go on a trip to Ireland 5 days before leaving for Ireland and brought 3 friends with me, we had the best time!

I spoke at the (WITS) Women in Travel Summit 2014 on Budget and Last Minute Travel. I was on the planning team for WITS 2015 and currently serve as the Sales Lead for WITS16. I guest write for sheswanderful.com. I also write for midliferoadtrip.tv and co-hosted their #NUTS twitter chat.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a seasoned traveler. I am pretty good at navigating obstacles, making the best of any situation, and being resourceful. I love showing people around places that I know well- Rome, Barcelona, Atlanta, etc.

I am a pretty good cook. I love to bake. I have taught basic cake decorating classes. I have taught some basic Spanish. I make a mean Bloody Mary. My biscuits are an experience and my fried green tomatoes are on point.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A great knowledge of Atlanta and Southern Culture. Some rad places worth checking out that you won't hear of in a guide book. Witty banter, love of a good cocktail, great recommendations on what to see and do.
I may have time to make biscuits while you are staying with me.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Costa Rica, Croatia, Dominican Republic, France, Haiti, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
