About Me
I enjoy making people appreciate the present and live in the moment, and currently approach that by providing great food. (Hopefully launching soon!)
My life story's quite complex, having lived in 8 countries across 4 continents, moving many times not due to my own choosing, so that's a story probably best told in person. But I've told my story many times, and I'd much prefer hearing the stories of others, at least first.
I joined CS in 2010 as it was recommended to me as a community to meet people when I went to study in Vienna for a few months as a study abroad program while based in Seattle and doing a Bachelor's degree there. I really loved the CS community there back then and went on to host a few people as well as shown people around. I lived in a shared house at the time when I lived in Seattle, so I didn't really get to host much. I continued being active in the CS community in London once I moved there, also for a study abroad, albeit a bit longer. A majority of the events were centered around bars and pubs, and being under 21, I wasn't able to do much of that in the US, so it was nice to be able to return to that in the UK having done that in Vienna.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing was introduced to me as a way to easily meet people when I did a study abroad program in Vienna while already studying abroad in Seattle for a Bachelor's degree. I continue to be on it, despite my dislike for the changes on this platform, namely the broken promise of supposedly never charging to use Couchsurfing, because I've met many great people on this platform and in the events that have been mentioned. I've also met many lifelong friends through this platform, and I look forward to making more in the future.
However, I no longer surf nor host. Instead, I just go to events and meet up with people in the places I travel to.

Music, Movies, and Books
I used to be a bit of an elitist, but I'm far from it now, thankfully. I think people should read, listen, and watch whatever they want. My music tastes are quite eclectic and eccentric, ranging from stuff like The Beatles and Elvis, to hard rock, to country music, and some mainstream pop songs. Not the biggest fan of rap or hip hop, but I can certainly appreciate the art form and there are a handful of them that I would truly enjoy listening to - just don't expect much knowledge around it from me!
I've watched a few films but I'm not really into it as they tend to be too long for me these days. If I do watch films, most lean towards comedy, which would be the same for my TV show preferences.
For books I largely read nonfiction and love history. However, I do quite enjoy the works of Philip Pullman.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Meeting people from around the globe! It's really amazing how I'm able to meet people from countries (and in countries) I only dreamed about when I was a child as well as keep those relationships spanning decades now. I feel that the people I meet really shape my experience wherever I am.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am more than willing to share stories and lessons from the experiences I've had in my life as well as various tricks and skills. Whether they're tips for travelling, cooking, playing an instrument, or anything else, I'll always be happy to share!
