About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Homesteading in rural Idaho. Slowing building up my property to be self sufficient and be able to live off the land.

ABOUT ME

I used to be pretty shy and even now I can sometimes fall back into my shy habits. But I've also learned (and am still learning) how to be social and to make butt-loads of friends. I've found that I'm happiest when I'm spending time with people, especially fun, crazy people. And I am aspiring to become a fun crazy person.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to always focus on my necessities and get rid of the parts of my life that are unnecessary and are holding me back. I want my life to be simple and streamlined like a nicely waxed surf board cutting through the water. So I guess you could say I'm a minimalist. I don't need a giant mansion, I just need a roof over my head. I don't need the newest gaming system, just cool people to hangout with and entertain me. My free time is something that I value highly, so having a ton of obligations is not my style.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I could do a little hosting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I traveled the west in a van from may 2013 to march 2014 and couchsurfed many times during that period. Everyone I stayed with were fun and great hosts. I went drunk tubing down a mountain river during a thunderstorm, I chilled on the beach in California and toured some local brews in the desert. None of these adventures would have been possible without couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies?...Meh. There are a few good ones but I generally don't watch very many. Music? I have a large, unique, and somewhat jumbled collection of songs that I like on my YouTube playlist Books? I don't really read that much except for a few non-fiction books that cover interesting topics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled the west (Canada and USA) in a van for almost a year and learned a shit ton about myself and people in general.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a certified Wilderness Survival Instructor. I'd say my specialty is in wild edibles.
