About Me

Trevor is a semi-retired hippie living in Jeffreys Bay. He is fascinated by the sea, and tries to swim every day, summer and winter, accompanied by his dog Sparky. On weekends he plays volleyball and goes for longer walks along the coast.

After reading Ayn Rand in the early 1980's, Trevor became a keen libertarian and has been involved with the movement ever since. He has attended all but 1 of the 32 Libertarian Seminars held in South Africa, as well as FreedomFest in Las Vegas. He is a co-developer of the Consent Axiom, and is on a mission to publicise this idea worldwide. He aspires to someday living in an independent libertarian enclave called Libertaria.

Trevor matriculated at De La Salle College in Johannesburg, in 1967. He started a B.Sc degree (Physics, chemistry) at Wits University in 1968, but switched to a B.Sc (Computer Science) through Unisa. He has worked for LEO Computer Bureaux , De Beers Diamond Research Laboratory, SPL and Didata , with a short spell at Price Waterhouse.

He is widowed, the father of 3 children and 3 grandchildren, and plans to tour Europe on a bicycle this year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting interesting people, young and old, local and foreign. I like sharing my opinions with them, and hearing theirs.

I have a spare bedroom which is not much used. A visiting Swiss friend told me about CouchSurfing and it seemed like an interesting concept, a part of the "gift" economy. I thought it might be interesting to give it a whirl.
