About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. - Mark Twai
ABOUT ME
I'm a young professional who has graduated from University a couple of years ago in International Relations. It is really ironic, but although I am a really curious person having read about the world and its different cultures, I have not traveled much yet. Now my work will allow me to travel a lot more in the upcoming years, and I would love to take the opportunity not just to visit new places, but to meet and share with people from these different places who have a lot to teach me. As I said, I am a very curious person, and I like to discuss about pretty much anything, but you'll strike a chord if you are particularly interested in languages, music, history, politics, philosophy, anthropology, food, beer or wine, computers, video games, books...
I consider myself an open minded and easy going person with a big sense of humor. I love to make people laugh and I like to listen to people who have a story to tell. I love being challenged and provoked into new ways of thinking.
PHILOSOPHY
"You only get one life: There's no God, no rules, no judgments, except the ones you accept or create for yourself. Now when it's over, it's over. Dreamless sleep for ever and ever. So why don't you be happy while you're here ? Why not ?"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been interested in Couchsurfing for quite a while, and registered a few years ago. I planned on using it while I was in India, but as I had many travel companions, we ended up using hotel rooms instead. I would also love to host, but being in a remote region not quite recognized for its tourism industry, I have never received a request yet, which makes me sad because I live a in beautiful part of Québec, Canada.
I think CS is an amazing opportunity to meet new people, whether as a traveller or as a host. This is what makes a trip worthwhile: Not only discovering a country by visiting museums and attractions, but actually connecting with its people, sharing, listening, learning. I look forward to make new acquaintances from all over the world !
I hope that you can consider me as a potential guest on your couch! I'll admit it, I can't cook well. But I clean after myself, I'm a very conscientious person and will respect your person/property. Although I can't cook, I'm really good with computer/electronics, and as an added bonus, will gladly offer you any help you might need during my stay, if you need to speed-up/repair your computer :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
No experience yet, but I will be traveling around South East Asia with no definite itinerary/calender from March to May/June 2013, and hope to take advantage of CS to learn more than the average backpacker.

Music, Movies, and Books
I could not live without music. I'm always eager to discover new material. I love blues, jazz, classical, rock, electronic, reggae, contemporary, minimalist, metal, country, and world music, especially from Middle-East and South Asia (Shakti, and Ravi Shankar, for example).
I love historical novels, science fiction, biographies. My latest reads were "World War Z", "A short history of nearly everything", "Foucault's pendulum", "The Road", "Guns, Germs and Steel", "Collapse", "Foundation"... I read a lot.
Movie-wise, I enjoy good dramas, sci-fi, weird/provocative movies. I also watch a lot of TV series, my favorites being from HBO: The Sopranos, The Wire, Entourage, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones. I'm also crazy about South Park, Family Guy, American Dad and the such. I love absurd/dark humor.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Realizing that I should enjoy life to the fullest while I am on this planet :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love if we could share our musical tastes. I could make you listen to either Canadian French artists if you feel like it, or anything from around the world I've been lucky to discover.
I can help you with your laptop if you have computer problems, I'm a geek at heart.
I'd like to share my love of food, beers and wine if the circumstances allow. I'm not a heavy drinker, but I love to discover new beers/wines/spirits from around the world.
