About Me

I am currently a dental student at the University of Iowa. When I am not studying, I am cooking/baking, filling out a crossword, or doing just about any outdoor activity... especially hiking, volleyball, and pickleball lately.

I have taught English in a school in Spain, worked on several vegetable farms, dairies, and bakeries in France, and traveled extensively throughout Western Europe and less so in South America.

I was born and raised in the good ‘ole Midwest of the USA. So, I’ve had my fair share of time on farms and in the good, friendly company of Midwestern rural people. I am always looking for opportunities to explore different cultures, schools of thought, and food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My #1 favorite thing about traveling is learning about different ways of life, various customs, and the local culture; what better way to do that than to live, talk, and experience with the locals!? Meeting people who are willing to accept people into their homes creates a great start to a genuine relationship.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach English or some of the MANY recipes I've collected from around the world.

Learn your native tongue or any recipes you might have to share :)

Share stories of each other's lived experiences and journeys.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to share a meal(s) with hosts, whether it be homemade or at a local restaurant. I think it is one of the best ways to learn about someone.

I would also be more than willing (and even enjoy) to help out with any small projects around your house... especially any gardening or anything outdoors.
