我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Before Couchsurfing I had a pretty good experience to travel through Europe and Russia with hospitality club. Then I hosted travelers in my hometown (Odessa, Ukraine). Now I have more opportunities to host people across the ocean, and show them some “southern hospitality”.

兴趣

Music. Play clarinet, saxophone. Learning trumpet and trombone. You'd better ask my roommates how they like it.
Traveling. “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page." - Saint Augustine

Classical music (Baroque, Romantic, Italian Opera, Carmina Burana is the best) , Jazz (Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller). Sinatra is my idol.
Movies - 12 angry men, Jay and Silent Bob strike back, etc
Books - dystopian novels like Huxley’s “Brave new world”, Orwell’s “1984”, “Animal farm” and others.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Was trying to hitchhike, being inside in a pretty old bus shelter while raining for three hours in the middle of nowhere in Poland.
Total of 8500 kilometers of hitching in Europe. It’s better not to hitchhike in the USA though. Here it’s called “backpacking”
