I travel a lot. If I stay longer, I usually work a few weeks or months in an area, often as a volunteer, just for a bed and to learn something new. My next journey will be between March to September 2024 Most of the time I work on marine research projects, the rest in between I travel through New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Maldives and India.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
During the travels I often miss a bed just for one or two nights to see more of a country or town. I prefer to meet locals to get to know the area from their perspective. Often, quite different possibilities open up.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love to have time for reading or chinema. My favorites are films from Quentin Tarantino and the discworld books from Terry Pratchett. I am interested in politics as well as scientific texts of almost any kind. And I laugh about Calvin and Hobbes :)
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Krass was the practical experience of state conflicts. Much better was every visit of distilleries in Scotland, any dive under the ice of the Baical or to photograph for a wildlife research program. But even better to read "The Capital" by Karl Marx the first time or just to sit with my friend on the couch and laugh ...

What I Can Share With Hosts
A cup of tea or coffee and a good idea.
My Interests
Photography. And I like being outside in nature or trying out different sports. For example, I like to dive, do biking, huskysled rides - but also I like fencing. Together with others I enjoy cooking. It is sociable, creative, educational and mostly tasty.
