My name is Alexander, but feel free to call me Alex, Sasha, or any other form you prefer. I am a Belarusian activist currently living in Warsaw, Poland

Before the pandemic in 2020 (do you remember COVID, huh?), my favorite pastime was planning extremely cheap trips around Europe for myself and friends. I am really keen on traveling, hitchhiking, meeting new people, and sharing stories

In 2020, the dictatorship in Belarus, which has been oppressing people since 1996, became even more brutal and led to the largest protests in its history, and, unfortunately, the most widespread repression, which made me leave my home country without a chance to come back

In 2021, I moved to Kyiv, Ukraine, where I continued volunteering and “found a new home”. I also started working with Ukrainian charities and supporting Belarusian volunteer battalions fighting against russia when the full-scale invasion began

At the end of 2022, my volunteer residence permit expired, so I had to leave Kyiv and move to Warsaw, where I continue to reside and support civil initiatives in Belarus and Ukraine, as well as anti-authoritarian associations worldwide

During "peacetime," I work as the COO at a web design and development agency, specializing in Web3 and technology fields

Unfortunately, now I can't travel as much as before or host people, but I'm always happy to meet with the folks from the CS community or share my experience & provide you with advice or guidance
