Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is new to me, I have never couchsurfed or hosted someone. I wonder if it is a nice way to travel alone and on a smaller budget. Also I am aware of the pressure tourism can have on beautiful places, I wonder if couchsurfing is a worthy alternative. I also wonder what it is like to host someone :)
