Hi there! I am Vanessa, a 20 year old biology student from Austria :) I grew up an lived in Austria for the majority of my life. However, I decided pretty early on that I wanted to go abroad sometime, that's why I went on exchange in the Netherlands for one year (after my graduation). Really one of the best decision I made. I met amazing people and found some of my best friends. I reallly do love to understand and see the world around me, one reason why I started studying biology. Travelling broadens my horizon and I want to keep doing it as long as I am allowed to. :)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I first heard of Couchsurfing two or three years ago through social media, friends, acquaintances and since then kept it at the back of my mind. I do not consider booking a pretty hotel and staying at a fancy resort for a few days as travelling. If possible, I would like to make the most of the time while I am abroad and by that I mean, meeting new people, getting to know the culure and going home with a better and bigger insight in the country or the life of the population living there. That's one reason I want to start couchsurfing because it covers all of the points I hope to achieve on one of my travels. :)

I can't really say that I have favorite bands, singers etc. since I listen to so many different genres or find songs that I like in a lot of places which where unknown to me beforehand. I am also convinced that everyone should keep a door open and leave some space got get him/herself into somehting new.
Favorite movies? - The Boy and the Beast, The red turtle and nearly every movie produced by Studio Ghibli
Books- similar to my taste in music, except of horror and detective stories (I really really don't like them).
