About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I would like to share my piece of the world and get a piece of yours !

ABOUT ME

I wasn't on couch surfing for a few years, I took a break to experience the world through my own eyes, sometimes you don't have to go far to discover a lot.
My biggest discovery was that it is not about how far the road brings you or the destination, it's about who you meet along the way.
To all my past couch surfer friends, I wish to thank you for the nice references, they mean a lot to me. I hope you are all well and happy and that if you are not.. you know.. accommodation have been upgraded by the way.
To all the other couch surfers, please forgive me if I do not answer you immediately, sometimes my schedule doesn't allow me to have any extra time to spare but it doesn't happen that often.
I am French or I should say.. I have a very good French accent.. I am here 20 years now, not an Irish in Ireland and not a French in France either.. it has its advantage.
I have 4 children and now, 2 dogs, if you are allergic to dog's hair, you may need to pack your medicine, the children are all right unless you are allergic to children.

PHILOSOPHY

I guess my profile already gave hints about my philosophy of life.
I am a sharer, I think life is too short to have any kind of regrets, that we should always try to do our best to help. I can't change the world but I can change mine and the world of the people who enter my life for a short or longer period. I like understanding where we come from, why we think the way we do and as I don't have too much time to travel myself, not physically anyway but I like visiting countries through the words and thoughts of travellers, however I think experiences of people and their life is more important than the sceneries. Both should go together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

On my last profile, two years ago, I was telling how much I like driving people around the peninsula and rediscover the beauty.. yeah, this is where I see that recession has hitting me hard.. this is not possible any more. I live 3 km from Dingle town (and its pubs), 30 mins of a walk that would be very beautiful if it wasn't for the fact that you have to walk on the road and spend your time feeling like a character of a video game, it is still a pretty road. A taxi would cost you 8 euro from where I am to Dingle, hitch-hiking is easy enough and I go to Dingle most days anyway. Just thought that it was an important detail. We have a camper parked outside the house, your own little apartment with a double bed, kitchen and toilets. I am trying to put it back on the road so if you can be of any help, if you have any skills, if you have the time or even advices, that would be great but not compulsory. I usually cook dinner the first night so come with an empty stomach, I think it is always good to know that too !

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One day I picked up a couple of hitchikers and they stayed for a few days with me. I really enjoyed the experience and I liked the feeling to know that I had made a difference in their stay in Dingle and that they will never forget about their time here, even if I will never see them again. That was what made me want more.

Interests

I don't have a main interest but I am interested by most things, love any kind of conversation. Life is about discovering, sharing and learning.
