I have had a great experience with Couchsurfing in Brazil (we were 4 travelers, so I did not use my account, that's why there is no reference), and I found it as a great experience - not just having a roof over your head, but hearing the best tips for getting to know the environment. And it is a great way of meeting local people.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

Long (or short, as preferred) discussions about life, people, and other existential topics, chat about favorite music or movies. But my favorite subject is social media (actually, not really, but I kind of do my research on Facebook and other social media).
I can play something on guitar. Sometimes it even sounds okay. But I almost never bring my guitar with me, so this works only if you have one.
