About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Three words...No Bad Days

ABOUT ME

My name is Vic and I am currently living in Roswell, NM working at the Mozzarella cheese plant, although I work in the Whey Department. Everyone knows cheese is just a byproduct of whey. I have been with the company for about 3 years and I am still loving what I do. It is an awesome process I love to discuss. I graduated from New Mexico Tech with my Master's in Chemical Engineering and have a strong connection to the school and Chem E program, and I try to support both all I can with presentations, etc.

Although I have lived in Roswell, I am still finding new and interesting places to go. I love many aspects of this town, be it the outdoor activities, the alien items, the music venues/bars, or other places.

I recently also opened a game shop here in town. I spend a lot of my evenings at the shop. Even if we can't spend time surfing, come in and try a free game from the demo game shelf.

A friend told me about CS, and I've been hosting for a couple years now. It has been a fantastic community of people to learn, meet, and have good times with. It feels amazing to spend time with all the different people on couchsurfer.

PHILOSOPHY

"No Bad Days"

I try to be a positive person in every aspect of my life.

I love being around people and csing is a wonderful way to meet and befriend new people. The stories and new experiences are great. I believe you can connect and learn from anyone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have only been on the host side of couchsurfing. I have a spare bed, a couch, and a love sac (large beanbag). I really enjoy bringing people into my town and making them feel at home and show them all the awesome places, while also spending time and learning about their lives. I do hope to eventually use it on the surfer side when I go on a trip myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I LOVE couchsurfer. I think it is an amazing community and I have had nothing but extremely positive experiences. Lots of people think I am crazy when I talk about it, but I think they are crazy for missing out.

Interests

This can be a long list:
Music: I love concerts and music. I like pretty much all kinds of music especially if it is live. I also enjoy dancing. Swing, Mexican, country, "booty shaking," it's all fun.

Sports: I like roller hockey, basketball, racquetball, capture the flag, poker(yes it is a sport), longboarding, dodgeball, and am willing to play whatever.

Some people call me a nerd: I love comics, science, chemistry, Futurama, nerd jokes, engineering, fantasy, gaming (board games and video)

Other: I love my two huskies, I like hanging out with people, I enjoy cooking(sushi is my favorite), I enjoy eating even more, I loved school and enjoyed teaching in college, I like water (ocean, lakes, slip and slides), I also enjoy outdoor hobbies such as camping, hiking, exploring, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Ska, punk, country, swing, rockabilly, rap, alternative, 80's, reggae, blues, funk. I pretty much like anything. As sad as it is I am not good at any instruments but own a trumpet, trombone, banjo, and guitar.

Movies: I actually love animated films, they are the best. Dystopian is probably my favorite genre with Zombies high on my list of favorites(Zombieland & Walking Dead). I love clever and not clever comedies. Not into scary stuff that much.

Books: Favorites include comic books, World War Z, Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy, Chemistry books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am not sure what to say here. I think the amazing "thing" I've done is to meet all my friends throughout my life and create lifelong friendships.

Teach, Learn, Share

Maybe not the most helpful to the CS community, but if you have some chemistry homework, I could help with that. :D I can also teach you how to play one of my shops many board games, or give you a quick lesson on whey manufacturing.
