Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing for me is not about saving money, but about meeting people who I otherwise never would have met. It's about culture exchange, learning, sharing and helping each other with information, which I try to if I can. I've assisted for about 5 months with Dutch language classes 🎒 , and I've organised twice a Japanese kitchen event.

Thrillers: David Baldacci, Jonathan and Faye Kellerman, Lee Child, Brad Thor, Barbara Nadel, Peter May (his China thrillers), John Grisham, Sue Grafton, Patricia Cornwell, Vince Flynn, Ben Coes, Kyle Mills, Nelson DeMille, Jack Mars, and many more.

Travel stories: Josie Dew, Frank van Rijn, Nicole Diercks and Ingrid De Wilde's cycle tours, Fleur Britten's book 'On the couch' about couchsurfing in Asia.

🎶 𝕄𝕌𝕊𝕀ℂ:
The kind of music I like most is plain pop, but I like world music, depending on my mood classical music, and of course Dutch music too (but no ballads!). Some examples, not in any specific order: Rolling Stones, Beatles, Toontje Lager, k.d. lang, Carpenters, Tori Amos, Doe Maar, Queen, Abba, K's Choice, Tatsuro Yamashita, Ismail YK, Murat Dalkiliç.

🎥 𝕄𝕆𝕍𝕀𝔼𝕊 :
I like watching documentaries, police films, action, drama, comedies, and sometimes the romantic tearjerker. Examples of movies I liked a lot in no specific order: Air Force 1, The American President, Cast Away, The Terminal, De President, Up In The Air, The Gods Must Be Crazy I and II, Beautiful People, The Red Sea Diving Resort, The Two Popes, Hunter Killer, Spotlight, Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen, Law Abiding Citizen, the Twilight-series, and all Harry Potter movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't decide which one is the most amazing, so I will name a few:

👉 Letting a cheetah drink water out of my hands; 🐾
👉 Stroking a tiger and noticing its fur is like touching a coconut; 🐯
👉 Climbing Dune 45 in Namibia;
👉 Wowing when seeing the Foz de Iguaçu waterfalls in Brazil; ⛲
👉 Climbing all 1,368 steps up to Konpira-san on Shikoku Island in ﾌ凡尸凡几; 🗾
👉 Sleeping on a rooftop in Morocco with a sky full of stars as a blanket; 🐫
👉 Making a cycling tour from Rotterdam to Budapest; 🚲

Teach, Learn, Share

When you stay at my place I can teach you some basic Dutch. Can you do the same for me about your language while surfing your couch? 🎓

What I Can Share with Hosts

They say I'm a pretty decent cook 🍳 in ﾌ凡尸凡几モらモ food, so if ingredients are available near you, I can offer to cook for you. Apart from that I can teach you some basic Dutch; maybe I can help you with your English - but please bear in mind I'm not a native speaker; I can share my travel experiences with you; and of course I will bring you a gift. 🎁 Any wishes? ;)
