I was born and raised in NYC, my hometown, in a Uruguayan household. I love it but I am hoping that that love can spread to other cities, other towns and other cultures.

I like to learn about cultures by experiencing them a bit here and there...the food, people, conversation, and the architecture.

I like my bicycle too.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I know there are people all over the world that wish to come to NYC. Brooklyn is only a half hour train ride away and to be perfectly honest, if you want to experience NYC, you MUST experience Brooklyn as well.

Buffalo is chill too, come through. I've got couches, futons, recliners and lots of floor space

Spending a good time with friends and family, eating deliciously good homemade food and learning everything there is to know. Let's disagree on everything, let us argue and support our opinions because in the end we don't know anything until we understand each other.

I want to learn el Tango

Have taken a recent liking to Italo Calvino's work, I cannot put anything of his down. 1984, The Dark Fields, Alain de Botton, Arthur C Clarke, Aciman, and so on and so forth. I recently read some really moving stories, The Great Divorce and Quinn's Ishmael.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Couldn't narrow it down to ONE amazing thing, so instead, here are a few; as I continually edit this list, I try to put more current things towards the top. I thought I had completed a solid list when I was overcome with goosebumps from a memory that might be the ultimate most amazing thing I've witnessed recently that definitely knocked my socks off:

Lucky and privileged enough to hitch a ride from El Calfate to Perito Moreno glacier on my last day in Patagonia, wrapping up a six week trip in South America. A dream family of an artist, a bird watcher and their two year old son, picked me up, and we spent the entire day (actually the last car to leave) in the presence of the grand Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the only continually advancing glaciers in the world. To witness its honesty, its grandeur and beauty is immensely humbling. You feel her cold breath. And you witness the thunderous roar of enormous chunks of ice cracking and falling off the face of the glacier and into the water below with sounds unlike anything you can imagine, that echo and reverberate in the distance.

Section hiked a Albania/Montenegro portion of Peaks of the Balkans.

I laid a wooden floor in a house overlooking the Caroux Mountains in Southern France with the help of some wonderful workaway hosts - spent 6 weeks working construction there.

Visiting farmers in the outskirts of Uruguay or Bulgaria to purchase 2 dozen eggs for breakfast.

Watching turtles hatch and make their way into the sea in Cozumel, fast forward ten years and I saved an injured sea turtle in the Florida keys.

I lived on peanut butter and jelly burritos, yes burritos, and the occasional mcflurry for a while when touring the U.S. via megabus. Fast forward half a dozen years and I did the same touring it via bicycle.

Hitchhiking through Eastern Europe, and walking across the border from Romania to Bulgaria over the Danube.

Traveling in Argentine and Chilean Patagonias. Was able to witness the beauty of Torres Del Paine and El Calafate.

I've thru hiked some (not all, not yet) of the Appalachian Trail, and ran the NYC and Chicago Marathons.

I also race bicycles, all kinds of bicycles...so much so I love the sport that I even rode my bicycle about 1,900 miles from NYC to the southernmost tip of the continental U.S. - Key West. That was fun.

LEARN

Currently learning about the art of coffee and latte art for a few years now, I practice on my home espresso machine and have a few memorable works of art! Coffee is like wine, the taste develops and caters to your present feelings and emotions over time. It is important to be completely present when taking your morning cup.
