I'm Virginija, a creative freelancer from Vilnius. I've spent most of my life making documentaries, until I shifted focus—first to documentary storytelling, then to simply holding space for stories, narratives, and the potential to rewrite them. Now I work as an intimacy coordinator for film and television, a public speaker (I genuinely enjoy talking in public), designer of a self-development workshop about discovering inner narratives, and project manager at a museum in Vilnius. On the personal side: I was in a long-term relationship that became a marriage, then a sudden divorce, and now a memoir in the making. As much as I'd like to brag about how wonderful life is, I must also humbly admit that watching the pieces of your life fall back into new places can be frustrating. Other than that, I enjoy listening to and telling stories.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
In the end of April, and some time in July I will be attending the in person bid of the online course, and I'd like to spend this time also knowing people and place I will be at. Of course, I'm also a bit broke, so saving up is also important.
Music, Movies, and Books
Behave by Robert Sapolsky, Say Nothing by Keefe, books by Shirley Jackson, Paradise by Toni Morison. Music - I'm super eclectic. Fleetwood Mac is my go to friend for shoulder cries and celebration. I find and collect new music by discovering in movies and TV series. I'm terrible with titles and names. Movies - Funny and Alexander by Ingmar Bergman, and Death Becomes Her, the funny one with Meryl Streep, Breakfast at Tiffany during New Years Eve's. Poor Things - one of the recent.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Discovered I have anxiety disorder, discovered it runs in the family, took actions to treat it, first in the female line of my family.
Teach, Learn, Share
This is my website: virginijavareikyte.com What I learned and what I teach is that everything we do or think is because of the story that we believe about ourselves, others and the world. Once in a while, it's good to an audit, of what those stories are and are they really ours?
What I Can Share With Hosts
Tons of stories collected through the lifetime of travels and navigating creative world. Tips and lessons how to build a narrative. A listening buddy. A Taro reading. A coaching session on creative topics. Watering plants.
