Overview
About Me
I am a postdoc at the NIH in Bethesda, MD and I research human memory. I'm an amateur pianist and a half decent singer. Check out my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpl5hZL5rv_zg4qfGdfxSKA. I also play chess. I'm an atheist but some of my best friends are extremely religious.
PHILOSOPHY:
Not so much a philosophy but an observation: I was updating my profile here after ages, and I could not even recognize my earlier philosophy. So the thing with philosophy is that it is ever changing. It may be gradual, but it 5 years' time, it can get pretty unrecognizable.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I was in Vienna for a summer internship from May-July 2008. I met with the most amazing people from this community, played football, watched football, drank beer, etc with these wonderful people. Made a few friends for life. Stephan and Laura are two such people who will remain good friends for life. Its amazing to get to know such people!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
At Stephan's parents' house in Melk! The most amazing time I had during my stay in Europe was due to their hospitality.
At stephan's flat in Vienna. Used to sleep over sometimes after watching a late night Euro cup football match with him at a nearby pub.. He also hosted my dad when he visited!
My dad and sister also couchsurfed at Laura's flat in Vienna and stay with her amazing flatmates. That's where I had this excellent Bavarian beer that someone had got from his/her house (I don't remember whose mom it was that brought all this Bavarian beer to Vienna when she'd visited!)
Met with Brandon in Florence. He showed us around, that was also such a memorable experience.
I also surfed grand pianos :P, you can see more details on my page.
Interests
Music (Western Classical, jazz and classic rock), Chess, Books. I love Chopin, Liszt, Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, etc. I've been playing the piano for about 14 years now. I play a bit of the recorder and sang in a couple of rock bands. Here's a sample: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBJsuaF5I_M.

However, way more amazing is the fact that I now have an adorable baby girl who has me completely wrapped around her little finger.
