Favourite methods of transport: four wheels and a thumb, two wheels and saddle, or no wheels and paddle

Favorite moments of the day: a sunny morning in winter or a refreshing evening breeze in summer.

Favorite sleeping spots: under the twinkling stars in the wild, gently swaying in a cozy hammock, or nestled snugly under layers of blankets and duvets - or maybe all three at once!

Favorite sights and sounds: sound of the sea, the mesmerizing dance of flickering flames and sparkling shorelines, the powerful crashes of thunder and heavy rainfall.

Favorite sensations: a heartfelt, soul-warming hug, an invigorating shower that leaves me feeling rejuvenated, diving into the cool sea on a hot day, that lovely feeling of relief when I remove my shoes after a long walk, the blissful haze just before falling asleep, and the first delicious taste of an ice cream.

Impressions can vary depending on where we are in the world and what stage of life we're in. Sometimes these things align just right, and sometimes you miss the right moment to meet. So how I appear to you today will be different from tomorrow, or a week from now.
The best way to find out about me is to meet me in person—so let's meet!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Cities are built for activity, not to be an activity! The best way to enrich your travels is by engaging in exciting activities with fun people, while enjoying the city as a vibrant backdrop.

That being said, as a researcher, I have developed a deep appreciation for a city's history, future, culture, and, of course, its architecture! So sightseeing has once again piqued my interest: what sets a city apart from others? How does it evoke different emotions? What is it like for people living there?

When it comes to accommodation, even the most luxurious hotel room, with its plush bedding, round-the-clock room service, a relaxing Jacuzzi, and breathtaking views, doesn't always measure up to the simple comfort of a genuine sofa and fantastic company.

The two modes of travel can coexist, each offering its own unique charm.

I often prefer spontaneous couchsurfing when I have a good feeling about someone's profile or when there's an exciting event happening. Undeniably, the best experiences come from this approach.

However, I have also used couchsurfing when longing for a real bed (or couch) and a hot shower. Sometimes, I just need some time in a regular house to recharge and feel like a normal person again. If you have been on a challenging journey, you'll truly cherish the luxury of a comfy bed and a refreshing shower.

Couchsurfing is as much about cultural exchange as it is about generosity. It's wonderful to offer assistance to someone in need without expecting anything in return, which is exactly what I do when hosting. Just be honest about your needs, and everything will fall into place!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I embarked on an incredible adventure filled with unforgettable experiences. Here are some highlights:

In Siem Reap, Cambodia, I explored the magnificent temples of Angkor Wat and witnessed the enchanting sunrise at this iconic temple complex. It was a breathtaking sight that left me in awe.

Heading to Sapa, Vietnam, I trekked through the lush green rice terraces, immersing myself in the vibrant culture of the Hmong and Dao people. It was an enriching journey that opened my eyes to their traditions and way of life.

In Donsol, Philippines, I had the exhilarating opportunity to swim with whale sharks, these magnificent gentle giants. It was an awe-inspiring encounter that left me mesmerized by their majestic presence.

In Bangkok, Thailand, I delved into the culinary world by taking a cooking class. I learned the secrets behind preparing delicious Thai dishes like pad Thai and green curry. It was a mouthwatering experience, and now I can recreate those flavors at home!

Venturing into the jungles of Borneo, Malaysia, I embarked on an unforgettable trek. Along the way, I had the incredible opportunity to encounter orangutans and other rare wildlife species. It was a unique experience to witness these creatures in their natural habitat.

Visiting the ancient city of Bagan, Myanmar, was like stepping into a time machine. I was captivated by the thousands of temples scattered throughout the countryside. Exploring their intricacies and grandeur was a truly magical and awe-inspiring experience.

The crystal-clear waters surrounding the Gili Islands, Indonesia, called out to me. I plunged into the depths, snorkeling alongside turtles, colorful fish, and even graceful manta rays. It was like swimming in a vibrant underwater paradise.

No adventure is complete without experiencing the vibrant nightlife of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I immersed myself in the city's energetic atmosphere, enjoying live music, sampling delectable street food, and exploring buzzing night markets. The energy was contagious.

Visiting Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, I couldn't miss the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. I marveled at their grandeur and enjoyed stunning views from the observation deck. It was a moment of pure wonder and awe.

To truly understand the local way of life, I cruised through the peaceful waterways of the Mekong Delta in Vietnam. It was a glimpse into the daily lives of the riverside villages, immersing myself in their culture and savoring every moment.
