Why I'm on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is a rewarding way to meet people all over the world. Staying with people who lives in the cities is much better, not just because you really go IN their culture, but they will know the best hints to give to you, and your travel will be a lot more satisfying. As a host, you'll be able to meet people from everywhere around the world, and share a bit of your culture with them, and vice versa.
