Overview
About Me
I have the most boring job in the world (I help write grant proposals for a university) so in my spare time, I travel and do standup comedy. I'm relatively good at both.
I'm all about respect in pretty much every aspect of life-- it's easy to say and a lot harder to actually do it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I grew up watching American travel show host, Rick Steves, and realized recently how much his travel ethos really shaped mine. If you're unfamiliar with Rick Steves, he is an extremely wholesome American who believes it's his life's mission to get Americans to travel to new countries and broaden their cultural horizons. One of his biggest takeaways is that we're all more alike than different, which is something we learn through traveling. When we travel, we see ways in which we're different--we have different cultures and languages and ways of living, but it's through Couchsurfing that I remember how similar we all are.
Some of my closest friends are people I've met through Couchsurfing. I travel so that I can meet friendly, open-minded, and interesting people, and if that isn't what Couchsurfing is about then I've been doing this wrong for years.
Interests
All Batman everything. I'm also pretty obsessed with public radio and the oh-so sassy BBC News radio (you've gotta entertain yourself somehow when you have a boring job)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I do standup comedy, it isn't amazing...unless you're one of those people who's horrified of public speaking!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Happy to share food! Couchsurfing for me is more about the social aspect than the cost-saving aspect at this point (this boring job is good for something) so I can actually afford to buy good food when I travel and share good food with travelers who visit me.
