About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Acquire Businesses

ABOUT ME

For a long time I spent all my energy doing Aikido, parkour, making beer, playing the guitar, being sarcastic, and getting my self lost in the woods. I got wanderlust, so I sold everything I owned and moved across the country. I got it again, so I bought a one-way ticket to Austria to work on a farm. I spent about a year floating about Europe before settling down for awhile in Vienna. I came back to Washington State where I decided I was going to flip houses and start a junk removal business. I did both, but after getting married and having my first child on the way, I tore a ligament in my foot doing Aikido a month before my first child was due, so I had to find non-physical work. I became a project manager at a construction company that specializes in insurance restoration. I attended a business seminar in Scotland and recently acquired a business and I now have 44 employees. I will be acquiring more.

I'm up to two kids now.

PHILOSOPHY

In your desire to create a world, do unto others as you would—when sufficiently courageous.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurfed often when I traveled through Europe between 2011-2013. Since then I use it occasionally when I travel because it's more fun than a hotel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All my CS experiencing has been surfing. It has been almost entirely positive.

Interests

Aikido, Parkour, Languages, Systema, writing, real estate investing, chemistry, listening to podcasts, jumping in freezing cold rivers, guitar playing, hiking, being sarcastic ...

...at least that's what I had written there before I had kids. Now my life is go to work, come home, and take care of the kids. I get free time after 9pm or so when they're finally in bed.

I used to have a tendency to barf up ontological data like the metabolic products of aspartame, the history and modern use of fluorine, the difference between laws and statutes, historical, philosophical, and economic analyses of various cultures and societies on earth, affecting the mind and body with neurosomatic methods, beer brewing and oil refining procedures, the devouring aspects of bureaucracy and the life cycles of governments, etc. Since then I've chilled out a bit, but I can still get going on a topic if prodded.

I say this just to warn you ahead of time. If I get started on a topic and you want me to shut up, just say so. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies which I can't predict the endings of within the first 15 minutes of watching are typically okay by me.

Music:

I'm out of touch where to go to find new music. Between job, wife, kids, and the fact that I'm usually listening to podcasts when I have time to listen to things, I've found I don't know where to go anymore to find new and interesting music, so I find myself stuck listening to the stuff I always used to listen to. Is this what getting old is like?

This is what I had written here when I was in my 20s: Tool, Bob Dylan, KMFDM, Infected Mushroom, Afro Celt Sound System, The Presidents of the United States of America, Gorillaz, The Chemical Brothers, Fluke, Leftfield, Leahy...

Electronic stuff, Celtic stuff, stuff that rocks, bagpipes. You know, the usual.

Books:

Frank Herbert, JRR Tolkien, Robert Anton Wilson, Carroll Quigley, Christopher Hyatt, and history, economy, and psychology books which are not full of shit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Selling everything I owned and buying a one-way plane ticket across the world. Twice.

Oh, and jumping into the Pilchuck River when it was 12 degrees Fahrenheit out. That's -11 Celsius.

Teach, Learn, Share

Chemistry, Shinto, Aikido, NWO politics, parkour, oil-refining, history, economics, money, systema...

I wrote about the misadventures I had while in Europe. You can check it out here:

What I Can Share with Hosts

My current lifetime of crazy experiences and how I've learned to deal with things and overcome obstacles.

How to leverage various credit products against each other to pay a mortgage off in a fraction of the time for WAY less interest.

Also, if you catch me in the right mood or manage to get me into it, through my various experiences in different martial arts and body therapy techniques (ask me about my Systema massage experience in Augsburg), I've developed a very unique method of massage that I've really gotten a lot of positive feedback from the people I've done it to. If I have the time and energy, and you have stiff muscle/stiff mentality and are willing to experience it, I yet to have someone tell me they didn't feel better when I was done.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In
