Overview
About Me
I am an eternal vagabond, travelling from adventure to adventure. Sometimes I stop for a little while like this winter I will be a snowshoe guide in the Snowy Mountains camping on the snow for 4 months while preparing for an expedition next year.
A BIT ABOUT ME
In May 2018 I became the first woman to walk 17,200kms solo unsupported around Australia. Here is a link to the Australian Geographic story http://www.australiangeographic.com.au/topics/adventure/2018/05/the-first-woman-to-walk-around-the-whole-of-australia-solo-and-unassisted
Previous to the walk around Australia I had walked over 5,000kms solo unsupported overseas and through Australian coastal and alpine wilderness and the outback.
I love Nature!
Not all my time is spent walking alone. I also sail, kayak, snowshoe, XC ski and ride.
I also enjoy volunteer work and have spent most of my adult years volunteering in a full-time or weekend warrior capacity. The types of work I have been involved in varies greatly and all over the world. From wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, endangered species breeding and release programs, fire fighting, maritime search and rescue, marine mammal rescue, Sea Shepherd ships crew, LGBTI support programs in India, alpine rehabilitation and weed management, street dog sterilisation, suicide prevention education, Eyre Bird Observatory caretaker, lots of fundraising and other stuff. I like to think of myself as proactive, engaging in constructive activities and I do not support aggressive or manipulative activism.
I have been many things including teacher, police officer, deckhand, gardener, adventure guide, bartender, bouncer, laboratory supervisor, farm hand, seasonal harvester, postie, navigation officer, sailing and kayak instructor, maxi yacht racing crew, theater actor and a student of environmental science studying conservation ecology and ecotourism.
Now I am an adventurer and story teller.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfing. I am a fulltime adventurer
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first experience was at Rowena's in Orbost with Sarah and Gregor in 2012 and I stayed with a few others while walking. I actually use the cycling network called Warm Showers more than Couch surfing, it is the same but for human powered adventurers on bike and foot.
If I stay more than 1 night I like to offer to cook for the 2nd night. I don't get many chances to use proper kitchens as I live out of a backpack and hammock.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like to support indie musicians and also enjoy The Whitlams, Oils, John Butler, Xavier Rudd, AltJ, Air and Ash Grunwald
Sci fi, action and comedy are my preferred movie genres.
At the moment I am reading The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs by palaeontologist Steve Brusatte and recently finished an Elon Musk bio but I enjoy most good literature especially classic tales of adventure.
