About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To eat, learn to respect, and spread while receiving the light of Jamaica and the people who live there.
ABOUT ME
Well, I'll attempt not to seem like a braggart, but quite frankly who knows anymore! Maybe it's what my grandad always told me " don't forget to get your kicks in kiddo". I've got two dogs; yellow lab, german shepherd. Blonde streak in the back of my head that never went away after my yellow light hair started turning brown. Mama told me I was touched by an angel when I was born, but who knows... I drive a black 87' honda civic SI- pretty cool car, I enjoy thinkin bout the mechanics of er'.
PHILOSOPHY
Wow, what a question. I love the "No Worry Philosophy" instigated, for my knowledge, by the whalers back in the day. I'll tell ya, one of my favorite women is Harriet Tubman and Rosa Parks. All that sowen, cannon firing, self-respect and expression of selflessness just gets me ready to go do somethin. You know, everyone at the time thought they were crazy but to quote Paulo Coelho (author of Warrior Of The Light and others...) "The Warrior knows that he is free to choose his desires, and he makes these decisions with courage, detachment, and-sometimes-with just a touch of madness."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've done a lot of volunteer and community service; not because of court trouble. Being involved in my community is a major aspect of life for me. With great neighbors and support through a town council and young members alike life is as good as it gets I think. Whenever I'm playing music I like to get down with vocals while playing my acoustic. Just to contribute to the summoning of energy that happens on the earth when musicians expert or novice jam together, its beautiful and I like helping the goodness flow.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
This'll be my first time! My friends who are tutors from other countries like Kuwait, France, and Italy all told me about it one night because I'd mentioned my plans to travel Jamaica.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
During my week with the Grand Canyon Youth Organization in 2007 I saved my friends life. While volunteering to take weather readings in the lower half of the Colorado River my crewmen and guides hit all of the rapids. In the lower half there is one class 5, the deadliest and highest level of rapid. It was a clear day, 5 moons had passed, and the sun was hot as hell. Out of our 5 boats, 3 had already made their way through Volcano, the sickly, dirty, dark, and deadly rapid lurking there in front of our eyes. Joey said, "lets do it". With that, we collapsed and slammed! Rolling over the 12 foot waves until my guide screamed "Man Overboard". Then... the most amazing thing happened. I swung around to face the direction my guide Bob had hollered. With half the raft on the peak of a wave and the other half dangling in mid-air, Sarah Kosso popped out of the wave right in front of me! I grabbed her life vest by the shoulder straps and swung her into the boat! We made it through, immediately after engaging the shallows she jumped out of the boat and ran to shore, kissing and crying praising god. We got along pretty good after that happened... I saved her life! :)
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, I mentored and tutored 9th graders during my first year of college in the cold North. That experience taught me a lot about how not everyone is good at things during the first go round of it. I like taking time with people who are interested in something I can teach. For instance, my father taught me how to build and this summer, while camp counseling, I taught my friend Ben (12 yrs. old-super duper ADD) how to remember where he puts his stuff (he forgets all the time) and how to build fires. Ofcourse, those little rugrats taught me just as much and probably more than I taught them.
