ABOUT ME

I am from China and currently work in Michigan U.S. after finishing graduate school. I love traveling. I enjoy the different feeling I have in the places I traveled. the spectacular nature, modern metropolitans, unique small towns... The combination of the elements such as geography, history, culture etc. give each place their own characteristic. Traveling gives me the opportunity to feel different culture, try delicious food and get inspired by the stories of other traveller. It remind me to keep an open mind to the world. I think my passion on traveling and exploring is one of the important reasons that bring me to U.S.

PHILOSOPHY

Always keep an open mind and challenge myself especially when I am young. Enjoy the process while pursuing goals in different stage of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I do couch surfing and meet local couch surfers. I have not host anyone yet. I plan to start to start hosting soon in late September. It is a little difficult to host in a small town because there are not a lot of travelers here. Let's see who will be my first lucky surfer!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couch surfing experience is in Chicago. I stayed at a young guy's apartment and he want to be a self-taught programer. There was another surfer from Germany who just finished his part-time job in Canada and continued his journey in U.S. Because I want to see the sun rise in Chicago in the early morning of next day, I decided to stayed up all night. We chat, watch movies. I went to a bar with his roommate and share our stories. Although I fell asleep and miss the beginning of the sunrise, it is still a pretty good experience.

Interests

I love outdoor activities such as running, biking, day hiking, camping. I believe they are good ways to challenge myself and get close to the nature. I plan to try diving, backpacking in the near future. I just start photographing recently and want to make it a serious hobby. It is always fun to discover the beauty through camera lens. I am a foodie. I always want to try local food, beers and go to featured local restaurant while I am traveling. I like cooking as well. I get compliments from my friends on the Chinese dishes I cooked.

Took a 42-hour long train from northeast China to southwest China to visit my best friend in my senior year.
