About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Cautious about hosting guests until SARS is under better control. (8-1-2020)
To share the beautiful mid-Columbia region in Washington state with vistors and to get to know their part of the world in return.

ABOUT ME

Haven't figured out what I want to be when I grown up but then I don't want to grow up. Traveled for many years with my wife til cancer did us apart. Why travel now? To learn more about others and myself. If adventure is part of the deal, great. Have dived in the Antarctic, climbed Mt Rainier, kayaked the Grand Canyon twice, saw the green flash while diving in the Cocos Island with Hammerhead sharks, biked my first century in 2010 and have kept spinning ever since. I like to push my limits and ignore the artificial limits that society places on individuals. Life could not get better. Am a Burner.
A note: Public transportation is limited in the area and you will need to provide your own - a car or a bike. Uber is in the area.

PHILOSOPHY

I live the moment and set the intent for the future. The past cannot be changed.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My door is open to host others so that they can see and experience this beautiful part of the world that I live in. Experience the smell of sagebrush just before a desert rain. See the lovely sunrises and sunsets. Taste the local wine. Walk the mountain trails. Be! Experience!

Have met some wonderful folks both here in the U.S and abroad.

Music, Movies, and Books

Classical and jazz music. Books? Whatever is at hand.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba dived in Antarctica; watched my grandson born by emergency c-section; kayaked the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River twice. Why the second time? To enhance the memory of the first time and to prove that I had really done it; dove with Hammerhead sharks in the Cocos Islands. Nude biked at Burning Man. Rode my first bike century when I was 71 and rode the 554 mile AIDS Life Cycle between San Francisco and LA when I was 73.
