Always up for capers, hijinks, and adventures. My big traveling dream is to sail around the world and write a couple of novels. I love science and how it helps us better understand the world so I'm getting my PhD. Edit: I realize I look like a baby in all these photos, I should update them. I promise I am a grizzled adult now. PHILOSOPHY I am going, I am going, any which way the wind may be blowing.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I couchsurfed through the west coast of Ireland and it was excellent. I've hosted a couple of times with good friendly people on roadtrips etc. Last summer I went busking and hitch-hiking west to Berkeley and when I got there I hung out with couchsurf folks. I wish everybody was like the people I've met through CS. Add Italy and a couple of great Chicago hosting experiences to the list.
Music, Movies, and Books

My Interests
Hobbies: I love playing my guitar. I'm a nerd who sits around fiddling with gizmos and gadgets. I'm volunteering at a nonprofit teaching southside kids to program and hack (but really I'm just having fun making stuff). I love the outdoors, camp hike sail swim and scuba dive a little. Chicago has some cool prairies and marshland and a couple of woods, but most of it's really over-developed so I like to travel. In school, I study the physics behind how organisms develop from simple embryos into the diverse array of species we see. I hope that someday we can understand our natural world well enough that we don't have to keep fighting with it in order to make progress.
