About Me
CURRENT MISSION
London for the first time, shakuhachi Festival July 27-31
ABOUT ME
Young guy (just kidding) with lots of kids, grandkids and a few great grandkids; living with my wife Janina in Germany the last 30 years. Love almost anything creative, from music (many years of 'first year' guitar, afro drum, now Shakuhachi) to sculpture, cooking and gardening.
I have had a lot of occupations, and usually enjoyed each with success for a few years. Teacher, Sculptor, Potter, tree-planter, builder, Psychologist,(esp. groups)
PHILOSOPHY
I'm too old for all this! Acceptance, Joy in living. 'go deeper' the first 100 years are the hardest. what you resist persists. I am rich. (of course with no money)I/you can do (almost) anything. When one is in harmony with the whole, 'miracles' are.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Very passive, my house is out in the country, no-one actually comes!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have often travelled with very incomplete arrangements, and have through this 'sloppy' planning had lots of great adventures, especially travelling in Russia, a super friendly bunch of folks. I am sort of tired of this, its begun to feel like tension and not adventure... So although I still seem to be last minute oriented, I phone my friends ahead!
Interests
Kind of tedious to list ALL my interests. I am interested in everything, and love people especially. I enjoy being in strange countries, have guests from foreign lands, i like to look at things, people, flowers, arrangements, beauty. I like japanese language, and culture (last wife was japanese) Reiki, Details in the garden. Photography, design, newest science discoveries.

Music, Movies, and Books
Totally ecclektic, like some of every style of music, love movies in General, but mostly foreign, ie., not american. Kurosawa, the Blind samurai, Jacky Chan, Bob Dylan, Read 'omnivorously', almost like a drug, but hate shitty writing style. did not like Harry Potter, although in German in was better written...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ran down a mountain in Switzerland under the chairlift, beat it down.
Canoe trip down the Columbia from Revelstoke, before it was dammed, with no prior experience.
Listening to the Goldberg variations while my first wife had our first baby.
Fun thinking about these things! All a long time ago!
