About Me

CURRENT MISSION
I am a doctor in Geology, working in Hazard Geology in Mountain Environments (rockfalls, landslides, flash floods).

ABOUT ME
I was born in a big city, but my parents soon teached me to love the mountains. I am a climber and alpinist.
I have been living in France many years. I have also backpacked in Asia (1 year), and visited North and South America.
I love languages: I speak French as my 2nd language, after Catalan. Now I am learning Basque, and amazing and beautiful language.
I started the university quite late, I studied Geology, and I discovered how amazing is science.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Sharing experiences with people from other countries, and learning about the real life of the cities I visit. Hotels don't give us a real experience.

Interests

I love mountain sports and I love to travel. Some years ago I started to learn how to play trikitixa, the basque diatonic accordion. I love it!!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love triki-pop and basque traditional music.
Movies: Emir Kusturica's, Tony Gatlif's, and Julio Medem's movies; The big blue, Les bronzes font du ski, L'auberge espagnol, Les dieux sont tombés dans la tête, Les visiteurs, Mon nom est personne, 2 flingues pour un manchot, Boys don't cry, Swing kids... and many, many more, I have hundreds of movies in my HD.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While travelling with a girlfriend in Laos, a corrupt policeman tried to rob us using a handgun. We were lucky enough to escape.rob

Teach, Learn, Share

Little note: Valencian is a dialect of Catalan (like Canadian English is a dialect of English), because both are the same language. Why does CS makes a difference?

About the new CS philosophy, "verification by paying":
I don't think that we must pay in order to be verified. I think that is an excuse to make money (like Blablacar does with its new policies), and that the act of asking money to couchsurfers betrays the original CS philosophy.
It's too bad that this kind of websites, born with a beautiful philosophy (CS, Blablacar...) are evolving to become a modern, bussiness enterprise!

What I Can Share with Hosts

My knowledge about geology, mountains, places I visited, mountain sports... and I love to learn new things!!
For sure, we'll have a toast with the beers I brew!
