About Me

Hi I'm Xin, an easy-going person, just learning to be couchsurfing!

Yunzhou is my boyfirend. We both graduated from Renmin University of China in 2025 June, where I earned a bachelor's degree in PPE(Philosophy, Politics and Economics) and he graduated in Argicultural Economics & Data Science.

My hometown is Sichuan Province, while I grew up in Shanghai with my parents. Every Spring Festival, our family travels a long way (2000+km) back home. I have a strong feeling of the unbalanced development in China, especially in the education sector. My academic interest thus come to studying the influence of migration and related public policies.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of our friend L. Lee who have CS experiences around the world highly recommended it to us (see my personal reference page)

Interests

  • cycle touring

Music, Movies, and Books

I appreciate Galen Crew (his most popular song is "Sleepyhead"). It's interesting that he is more famous in China than in his hometown US.

I enjoyed a lot of movies, among them a most recent one is The legend of Hei 2.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

covered a song with lyrics writen by my friend and I, as a gift for our favorite Undergrad course "The International Law". I played it myself as a beginner of ukelele.

completed a 75km long clockwise circular hiking route at Mount Wutai (with Yunzhou)

Last winter vacation, I went road biking on Hainan Island (with Yunzhou)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach mandarin Chinese, geography about China, caligraphy, tips for long-term cycling tour, etc.

I am willing to learn languages that commonly used in daily life (ie. I've learned different ways to say "thank you" whichever country I went)

also with an open heart with new skills, musical instruments and so on!

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can talk about anything you are curious about me and my cultrual background!

I usually travel with my boyfirend, and both of us are keen on cooking (see the photos in my profile). We can cook for the hosts if you want to try some Chinese dishes.

Countries I’ve Visited

Indonesia, Russian Federation, South Korea

Countries I’ve Lived In

China, United States
