About Me

Yaki: I have been a part of the couchsurfing community since 2005! I'm not a newbie but I like trying new things and meeting new people. I host from time to time. I am using this profile mostly for travel and in hopes of staying connected to my people. Olivia and live small in Northfield, MA and part-time on long island. We have diverse genders, so ignore the designation couchsurfing so rudely picked and won’t let us adjust. We got tired of verifying accounts that couchsurfing messed up, so now we just start new ones when they change/lose our password and refuse to help restore.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The best way to travel is with a full belly and a rested body!

Interests

I enjoy sporting games especially rugby, cartoons, languages, riding motorcycles, and being nice to other people's dogs (that last one was for 5-year-old child).

Music, Movies, and Books

We’re both eclectic and natural, so we like meditation, Reggae, hip-hop, pop, classic rock, contemporary, and gospel choir! The preschooler is fond of trucks

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Yaki: I rode my motorcycle from Monterrey, CA to Columbia, SC. I volunteered for Katrina Relief, Tsunami Relief SE Asia (lived there 2 years), and Flood Floyd
Olivia: natural childbirth at home at age 45, intentional single parent. Before that was a 5 day camping on a deserted beach in Mexico

Teach, Learn, Share

Be the guest your host wants to return and the host your guests want to return to!

What I Can Share with Hosts

There's a small, private room with mattress downstairs. There's always a long line to the toilet shared with 4 adults and 1 child. We have small tents for groups and extension cord for your fan/chargers/whatever.

The house is tiny and full. This is NOT a wheelchair accessible house, but it's possible to get someone into the ground level living/kitchen. Please know that we have children and be approved for such a residence before requesting, clean records only. That said, there's space in the tents for groups, but know that there is NO public transportation. So if you're on foot, Lyft/Uber is your only option if you can get a driver to come out this far, but there is parking for your personal vehicle. ALLERGEN ALERT: dogs, cats, timothy hay, rabbits, peanut products, and a toddler with a marker.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Canada, China, Mexico, Myanmar, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In
