About Me

Hi all, I was born in China, migrated to New Zealand when I was 7, then moved over to Australia in 2000. Went back to NZ for uni because I loved the country, but back working in Aus because parents are here and also you earn more here haha
Even though I'm pretty much westernized, I'm a very stereotypical Asian in the sense that whatever you think an Asian should know or be good at, I am haha:
Good at math - tick
Play an instrument - tick
Knows Kungfu - tick
Good at table tennis/badminton - tick
Love karaoke - tick
Obviously non of the bad stereotype though, I can drive very well :P haha

Love to meet new people, always learning new things. Have worked in all the states of Australia except for WA (abit far) thanks to my job so any questions about any places to visit, Im your guy haha. Relocated to Melbourne on a more permanent basis about a year ago, but knows Melbourne very well (even better than some locals I found) from my numerous previous visits.
Love good food, good drinks, good music, and good company.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Would love to meet people from around the world, and since I have no major commitments other than work, would be happy to open my home to people in need of a place to stay while they visit my 2nd favorite place in Australia haha

Interests

Love all sorts of sport, love keeping fit and especially my favorite Bodypump in which I go at least 4 times a week :D
Love learning new things, just in the last year, I have obtained an owner builder license because changing my parent's home from carpet to timber made me very interested in renovation; studied wine online through Adelaide Uni because my friend asked if I wanted to export Australian wine; and also took up golf! haha Just a few of my many ventures..and always looking to meet new people and share interests and hobbies.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite music - don't have a specific one, it all depends on the situation and mood I'm in. But in general, I am a fan of Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars, as they are not just singer, but musicians as they can write and sing.
Obviously listen to Chinese songs, but all the ones I know (and sing) are probably from 10 years ago as I haven't caught up on the more recent singers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Be apart of Refugee New Zealand when I was in Uni and assisted in the settling of a family of refugees into Christchurch. Having that responsibility from the very beginning (arranging the house they will be getting, cleaning, bringing in furniture etc), to meeting them at the airport, to helping them organize schooling, health visits, all with minimal English communication, was quite an experience. And seeing the family putting their trust in us and showing their appreciation was something very rewarding.

Countries I’ve Visited

Fiji, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macao, Malaysia, New Caledonia, Singapore, Thailand, Vanuatu

Countries I’ve Lived In
