Hi,I’m Yang,a native Shanghainese.

By profession, I compose music for stage plays and film/television productions, and I’m also an electronic music producer. I love playing modular synthesizers.

I also enjoy taking photos in my daily life. Sometimes I shoot stage plays, and other times I take photos for my actor and singer friends. I also love street photography and landscape photography.

I’m calm at times, and rock ‘n’ roll at others.I have a passion for all forms of art, as well as literature, philosophy and sociology. I have an open mind and respect all religions and cultures. I love communicating with friends from different backgrounds, and I’m deeply fond of traveling—there’s nothing I enjoy more than experiencing various lifestyles and cultures around the world. I’m looking forward to becoming friends with you!​And it would be even more fun if we could collaborate on some creative projects together!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It was a random chance that led me to Couchsurfing. Although I’ve just started exploring Couchsurfing, years ago, I had a photography project where I visited strangers’ homes—we’d chat about life and hopes, while I documented their portraits and daily lives in that very moment. Through this project, I made many friends and was exposed to a wide range of lifestyles; it was such a wonderful experience.​
I truly enjoy interacting with friends of different ages, professions, and cultural backgrounds. It allows me to see the world from diverse perspectives, and also helps me keep an open mind towards life and various viewpoints at all times. Meanwhile, during travels, I believe this kind of approach (like Couchsurfing) lets me experience the local customs and culture in their most authentic form. In this fast-paced world where more and more things are being materialized, concrete, living people have become exceptionally precious.
