ABOUT ME

French guy from the Alps, with a summer job doing rope access and winter job ski instructing plus working with a big street theatre company. I live in a beautiful village at the foot of the mountain and I like having friends around to go hiking or simply have great debates while preparing a good meal all together !

Most of the countries I've been in was to work there and live ordinary and normal life with people, mums, dads, children... Making me discover the reality of life in those countries, away from any tourist attraction and circuit, away from luxury and excessive wealth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

WHY COUCHSURFING ?!! WELL... YOU COULD BE INTERESTED IN THIS SPECIAL PROJECT OR "OFFER" OR IDEA RIGHT NOW!!!

I'm looking for people from everywhere, anywhere, who would like to spend 2-3-4 months here for the winter season and do some skiing and help me in the house !!
The idea is ; I'm a ski instructor and I go up to ski nearly each day. Mostly it's cross country but also downhill. The best way to get super fit! So, if you'd like a winter in the Alps, learning with me how to ski or to improve... And share some funny moments meeting my friends and doing some stuff in the house, let's go for it !!

I'm on couchsurfing to propose people to discover my region, the Alps and to practise the different outdoors activities. Maybe it's your idea and project!

I'd like to have spanish speaking people coming around for me to practise. So if your from Madrid or Barcelona or Santiago or Montevideo it's fantastic !

But if you're from the UK, Australia or any African of Asian country or from Scandinavia it's ok for me !! Anywhere as long as you're happy to discover things and we share the same dynamics and stamina, come over!

I've got a great house near the river and I'm renovating it, so I'm happy to share with people my life which is a mixture between outdoors, work, being in the wilderness, having friends at the house and gardening or doing renovation and woodwork. I also like doing voluntary work.

Interests

I'm interested in so many things... I am a climber and kayakist and skier and I love cycling and running... but I also like philosophy and politics and geography... And photography and just chatting with a perfect stranger about his job and interests and city... Or reading a good book and being a bit lazy on a warm couch !! I can talk, anywhere in the world, with a perfect stranger and ask him or her what she thinks about the world and life and discover his or her opinions and environment ; I am curious of everything and I truely learn each day because I seak information all the time !

Music, Movies, and Books

Books ? Probably Noam Chomsky material... Have a look ; most influential intelectual in the world right now !!!... Also Howard Zinn, and Edgar Morin or Pierre Bourdieu and Levi-strauss... A lot of sociology and politics.

Music , it can go from rock to jazz and rap and blues and even opera or punk or traditionnal... I am not at all into the usual big commercial stuff, not into all the big american RnB super rich superstars... I really am not interested and I haven't had any TV for a good 20 years... But I seek information and I'm very well updated by consulting alternative medias and I can listen to Queen, Al Jarreau, Nick Drake and Reggae or Flamenco or Ska or classic or Zappa or Joe Jackson, (incredible musician who changes music at each album) in the same evening !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm lucky to have "made" a great bunch of friends ; people I've known for 15-20-25 years... And seen their children become my friends now... Also, I've had 2 children... That's quite an amazing thing.

To answer more classicaly, I've designed quite a lot of unique furniture in my house... I've accomplished quite a few long endurance trips... And I do "special jobs", in theatre and climbing.

If you have time and want to see how the world operates ; what are the mechanisms of society today... Read "A people's history of the united states from 1492 to today", by Howard Zinn. Its very simple and just simple fatcs you never hear about !!
It shows how the western world is functionning and how it is preventing a vast majority of poor countries to lead a decent life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A large house with beautiful surroundings and lots of interesting stuff to do inside it ; I can show you plumbing, electricity, wood work, plastering...
