ABOUT ME

There are two things I really suck at, even if I have tried for years and years :
- playing the guitar
- speaking German

I'm not the partying type of guy : I prefer a good diner with friends talking about everything rather than going to a nightclub.

Basically, I'm the guy who listens to Slayer while drinking light herbal tea.

PHILOSOPHY

1) I'm a Letfist, activist in the French radical Left
2) I'm an atheist, a rationalist, a "skeptic", so I generally don't get along with religious or "spiritual" people. But, who knows ? My first couchsurfing experience was with someone who came here for meditation !!!!
3) I'm a vegetarian, with vegan sympathies. I don't eat organic food, I'm in favor of GMOs and vaccination, and I support the use of glyphosate and nuclear power.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't accept non vaccinated people in my house (unless there is a specific medical reason). If you come and stay at mine, we both make a Covid test a your arrival, and then we get a drink !

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I hosted a spanish girl and we hiked together before she started meditating (without me). I hosted three or four times people on their way to somewhere else. But my area in Ardèche is not the most touristic one, and people need a car to reach my place on the hill !

Zainteresowania

Politics, science and social sciences. Books, museum, theater, movies, TV series. Everything about vikings and human arrival o Mars.
I love music, festivals and concerts. I do sport, mainly soccer. I try to play a few instruments, I'm active in two bands (one rock, one folk). I go to folk dances events.
Nature, hikes, animals...
I like theater and I regularly go to the Edinburgh festival with my students. After having been very "US addict" for years, I have more recently, because of my job, developprf an interest in the UK, and especially Scotland
But if I had a chance to live abroad for a few years one more time, I'd chose a Scandinivian country, because they have the highest rate in the world concerning metal bands per inhabitant.

Muzyka, filmy i książki

I have kind of "geeky" tastes when you talk about movies. I think French artsy-fartsy independant movies are not as smart as they pretend to be, and I tend to prefer even hollywood romantic comedies.
I'm into rock music, especcialy metal (favorite bands : Opeth, Gojira, Coroner, Black Sabbath...), but I also love prog-rock (Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd...), jazz (modern jazz, like Steve Coleman), blues (that's where all comes from), alternative country (Jesse Sykes, Sixteen Horsepower, O Susanna...). I'm very interested in the history of Music.
Books :I mostly read social science books, but I also like Science Fiction, crime novels, etc.

Jedna niesamowita rzecz, którą zrobiłem(-am)

I don't think I'll ever do something really "amazing" in my life, I'm far not adventurous enough for that.
Let's say that entering for the first time the "Fillmore" concerthall, whose walls are covered with pics of the great musicians who played there, was really emotionnal.
And having been involved in strong social movements, like the 2003 strike in favor of pensions, is also important to me when I look back at what I've done in my life.

What could I teach ???? Hey, come on, I teach all day long to my students, give me a break !!!! Let's say : I love games (cards, boardagmes, etc.), so I could teach the rules of some of them.
Of course, I'd like to learn about your country and the area you come from...
