I live in Montreal, QC since 2019. Being relatively new to this great city, I am still exploring and trying to get to know the city more.

Before Montreal I lived in Boston for 7 years. I have worked in academia and higher ed for quite a while, then worked in pharmaceutical company and also in biotech startup financing. I have a doctoral degree in Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience, which I obtained in Germany (I was in Europe for 4 years). I grew up speaking Mandarin. At the moment I am focusing on improving my French.

I grew up in a farmer’s family, so I am used going to the field and helping out after school. My family used to grow many varieties of grain, fruits and vegetable, and kept many farm animals (chickens, ducks, geese, pigs, goats), so being among the plants and close to animals is what I am familiar with. Since 2014 I have been regaining some farming and gardening + landscaping skills.

I am a very social person who really likes to meet other people. I have always liked traveling, to meet different people and hear their stories, to listen to different perspectives experiencing different culture, seeing different landscape, hearing different accents... I also love cooking, hiking, cycling, skiing, camping and many other outdoor activities.

I made a 9800 miles/26-days, Boston-Seattle-Portland-Boston road trip in 2019. I saw so much, met many amazing people, and got to know the US a lot better.

So far I have done multiple road-trips in Canada which connect Vancouver-Calgary-Toronto-Montreal-Quebec City-Charlottetown.
