Guatemalan culture:
Here are some tips about Guatemalans, just remember that culture does vary from area to area and may be not a simple as it's explained here, but in general I can tell you that Guatemalans are respectful and somehow traditional in some topics:
* They are very welcoming, generous and helpful if it's in their possibilities.
* Friendly and respectful of your ways.
* Tolerant to other cultures.
* Phrases of respect are spected, like: good morning, good bye, please, thank you, you're welcome, Could I...?
* Don't walk around naked or only wearing underwear in someone's home.
* Man + man: Shake hands
* Man + woman: shake hands or kiss on the cheek (only if she allows you to)
* Woman + woman: shake hands or kiss on the cheek
* If you're rude or unpleasant, people might not say anything, but they will avoid you and tell others about your behavior so others are aware of you.
* Drugs and other substances are accepted only to some people.
