Overview
About Me
I am currently busy with my masters degree in ports and coastal engineering. In my free time I dance, read books, go for jogs or bicycle rides in the mountain and dream about all the places I want to visit.
I believe in balance and live my life accordingly.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have only traveled once to tourist destinations (trip to Venice, Florence, Lake Bled, Ljubljana, Piran) and I was most disappointed with my experience in Venice. I only went for day visits and was thus overwhelmed by the tourist vibe.
I realised that my experience would be much more valuable if I could experience these amazing towns through living with locals. I came across Couchsurfing and knew that this is the platform through which I can travel to touristy places, but still experience the authenticity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelled to Slovenia in September 2015
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach people to speak my native language, Afrikaans. It is similar to Dutch.
I would love to learn a few different languages myself and maybe a few more dance styles!
I can share my experience growing up in South Africa. I think there is often a big misunderstanding on what life is like over here.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can help with cooking and if the host is interested I can try and prepare some South African dish. We have some great wine in South Africa, and if the host requests some wine, I am more than willing to bring along.
