About Me
你好👋
I’m Yedong from Suzhou and living in Montreal. I speak Wu Suzhou dialect, Mandarin Chinese, English, and a bit French. I feel like that traveling is more than tourist attractions and beautiful landscapes, but also about local life, and to see, to experience other ways of living. I’ve lived in multiple families for a long time in England, including in Norwich, Sheffield and Bedford, those were all lovely memories. I found a lot of the times when I was trying to recall the trips, the first thing that popped into my mind was the Couchsurfing experience, you can literally feel the energy there.
Sometimes, I imagine myself as an anthropologist who’s doing field study. Culture, an elusive thing, embedded in every single aspect around us. Whenever in a new city, I love to take a bus, visit local markets or just sitting by the window ordering a cup of coffee, observing every walks of life flowing in front of me. Just like every other traveler, my dream is to visit every country of the world, but I’d like to do it slow. Sometimes I may wonder a traveler 1000 years later, by that time, everything will be in its developed phase, and the world will tend to be the same, won’t it be boring to travel by that time?
